Introduction 
The purpose of this Data Privacy Statement is to provide you with information regarding the personal data about you which is held by DB Electrical. DB Electrical fully respects your right to privacy. Your personal data will be treated with the highest standards of security and confidentiality, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Data Protection legislation. 
 
Who we are and who controls your data

Your personal data and how we collect it 
The personal data we hold and where it comes from will depend on the type of interaction you have with us. You may choose to provide us with personal data in an e-mail, by phone or to the address listed on our site. We use these details solely for the purpose for which you provided them (e.g. responding to your query, providing you with a quote etc). The personal data that we process include (i) basic personal information, such as your name / surname (ii) contact information, such as your postal address, email address and phone number(s); and (iii) any other personal data that is provided to DB Electrical during the course of the performance of a contract. 
 
Special category data 
DB Electrical does not process special category data. 
 
How do we collect personal data? 
 
Phone calls 
We do not audio record or retain audio recordings of phone conversations. If you contact us by phone your number will be automatically stored on the recipient phone for a limited period of time in a list of inbound and outbound calls. No further processing of this data is carried out. We may record personal data received during the course of phone calls in the form of notes made on the relevant customer file. 
 
Emails 
All emails to DB Electrical are stored for the purposes of the matter to which the email relates. The sender’s email address will remain visible to the staff member assigned to deal with your query, manage the contract etc. Please be aware that it is the sender’s responsibility to ensure that the content of their emails does not infringe the law. 
 
Unsolicited unlawful material, together with the details of the sender, may be reported to An Garda Síochána and/or other relevant authorities and further emails from such recipients may be blocked. 
 
Post 
All post we receive is stored for the purpose of the matter to which the post item relates. 
 
Social media 
We receive personal data through our social media interactions on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram. We operate social media accounts on these platforms to promote awareness of our services. Messages or posts we receive on these social media platforms are viewed and may be used for the purpose of providing our service where requested by you. 
 
CCTV 
Our landlord operates a CCTV system for security and safety. Cameras are located to the front and rear points of entry/exit to the Drinan Enterprise Centre. 
 
Website 
Our website (www.dbe.ie) uses certain cookies. Our Cookie Policy can be accessed here. 
 
Suppliers / service providers / other people in contact with DB Electrical 
We hold personal data about individuals where they may have contacted us in relation to various matters e.g. contact regarding the supply of goods or services. This personal data includes your name, contact details and information relating to the goods or services. It comes from your interactions with us. 
 
Others 
We have described above all the main categories of people whose personal data we hold. We can hold data about people who do not fall within these categories. For example, from time to time we hold personal data about people attending meetings or events with DB Electrical. We confirm that all personal data is treated with the highest standards of security and confidentiality, in accordance with the GDPR and Data Protection legislation. 
 
What we use your data for and the legal basis 
The legal basis for which we use the information you provide to us is for the necessary performance of a contract i.e. 
 
you have asked us to provide you with a quote and we need to process your personal data for this purpose. The legal basis applies even if we don’t enter into a contract with you, as long as the processing was in the context of a potential contract. 
we process your personal data to comply with our obligations under the contract. 
we need to process your personal data so you can comply with specific counter-obligations under the contract (e.g. we are processing payment details). 
 
Who we share your information with 
We will never share your information with any third parties for the purposes of direct marketing. We use data processors who are third parties who provide elements of services for us such as for payment processing, accounting services and website maintenance and support. We have contracts in place with our data processors. This means that they cannot do anything with your personal information unless we have instructed them to do it. They will not share your personal information with any organisation apart from us. They will hold it securely and retain it for the period we instruct. 
 
Spoton.net 
 
Our site is hosted by Spoton.net, which logs all requests in order to determine the causes of reported faults and to detect and block suspicious traffic. The log records the time of the request, your IP address, the requested resource, the referring site (if specified by your browser), and your browser’s user agent string (which will usually include the name and version of your browser and operating system). Log files are deleted after ninety days. This is to comply with the GDPR obligation to implement appropriate technical measures to protect data 
 
Cloudflare 
 
Our site is served through Cloudflare. Cloudflare helps our site load faster by storing copies of our content in data centres around the world, and defends our site from attacks by logging requests to detect and block suspicious traffic. Google Analytics 
 
We use Google Analytics to track visitor interaction with our site in order to produce statistical reports. Google collects details of the pages you view and the time you viewed them, the features of your browser, and your IP address. This allows us to analyse how visitors interaction with our site in order to improve our site and our services We have enabled IP anonymisation so that Google will not store your complete IP address. PayPal button

In some circumstances we are required to share information to a third party where we are under a duty to disclose or share your personal data in order to comply with any legal obligation. In any scenario, we’ll satisfy ourselves that we have a lawful basis on which to share the information and document our decision making and satisfy ourselves we have a legal basis on which to share the information. 
 
How long we keep your personal data 
We hold your personal data for 3 years from the date on which the contract for services ended. 
 
Your data protection rights 
Under the GDPR and Data Protection legislation you have certain rights. These rights arise in certain circumstances and are subject to certain exemptions. The rights are: 
right to access the data – you have the right to request a copy of the personal data that we hold about you, together with other information about our processing of that personal data

right to erasure (or right to be forgotten) – you have the right to request that personal data be deleted 
right to restriction of processing or objection to processing – you have the right to request that our use or processing of your data be restricted or to object to our processing of your data

We try to meet the highest standards when collecting and using personal information. For this reason, we take any complaints we receive about this very seriously.
